Lindisfarne Castle
Our first garden to visit on our grand 2019 garden tour of Scotland and norther England is Lindisfarne Castle. A remote place on the North Sea is an island at high tide but looks more like a pennisula at other times. People have been coming here for at least 2 millennia.
This castle was converted into a private house in the early 1900's by Lutyens. Jekyll did the wall garden. The drama of the garden is best shown in photos as it is remote from the castle.
