RHS Hyde Hall - East Anglia

 July 24th





We came here a year ago, June 2022 and we noticed big changes.  All around it was more full and everything was one year older.   But there were some disappointments, mainly the Australian and New Zealand Garden.  More on that later, let's look at what look outstanding.  Below is the Dry Garden:

Of course the Car Park is more space to try out plants.   Very little solid pavement here.

 In the afternoon on the 24th we drove across England to Essex.  We are headed to the RHS Hyde Hall Garden near Chelmsford.  Our last visit here was in 2016 and I recall a few areas I liked.  The Australian and New Zealand garden, the Mediterranean garden, thw colored borders, the cottage garden and the modern country garden.

It is already clear that Agapanthus will be one of the flowers of this trip.  I have already seen at least a couple dozen varieties in full bloom.  One of my favorites, here’s Agapanthus’Poppin Purple’
