Chatsworth House

 One of the great English country houses.   It is posh.

I was impressed with the Maze.  It was challenging and I was the last of four to make it to the center where there is a mount to see the entire maze.   

 Frank was the first to get to the center of the Maze.  It took me at least another 10 minutes.  He is pointing out one of the giant sequoias.

 

Here I am at the base of a large giant sequoia.   The Maze was surrounded by a couple dozen sequoias of different ages.   A great example of the life form cycle of these giant trees.  

Extensive rock garden recently replanted.

The famous cascade was off due to maintenance.  Many of the large stones are loose and need to be set in mortar.  Notice each set of steps are a different number, height and curvature.  This produces a different sound for each step when the water is flowering over and down.
