With much anxiety Angele and I drove up to Richmond, California to the new nursery called Curious Flora. I was curious. I was hoping for the best but prepared to be disappointed and ashamed. The best being a thriving commercial nursery producing fun and new things along with those successful heirlooms. The worst, a possible commercial implosion and the loss of a great gardening resource.
I am delighted. The parking lot was full on Saturday morning and the nursery racks were full too . The demonstration garden was planted full of inspiration and the possibility of finding that next new love. I felt overwhelming relief and a warm heart. (That is difficult for one once regarded as The Ice Princess)

Angele pointed out this Salvia and told me why she loves it. The color of the buds, petals and bracts all of similar richness, extends the period of interest for 2-3 months. |

What is this? I feel like I should know. I think it is a California native, but not sure. It looks great. |

The retail tables were reorganized a little and somewhat reduced in total square footage but still large. |
