Road Trip 2026 - Barrington Court Garden

 Originally visited on July, 9, 2014 and potentially a destination for Road Trip 2026.

With roots in the 16th century, Barrington Court has had many influences over the last 500 years.   The gardens includes a walled garden, kitchen garden along with the large estate surrounding the house.  Early restoration of the gardens began in the 1920’s with the help of Gertrude Jekyll and whose plan was only partially executed into the Arts and Crafts form.  Later on in the 1980’s the owner added more of Jekyll’s planting to the garden.  This was what it looked like in 2014 when I last visited Barrington Court. Road Trip 2026 - East Lambrook Manor House

 Another possible destination on our upcoming road trip June 2026.  This small cottage garden is the one to see.   Hard to believe we would not stop here on the way to Cornwall.  These photos are from our 2012,16 and 22 trips.  Interested in joining us on any part, please consider coming to our Cocktail Hour this week. Road Trip 2026 - RHS Rosemoor

The gardens at Rosemoor have a great sense of experiment.  Unlike many gardens in England, there is not a character or personality attached to it.  The houses are of only a supportive role, it’s all about the plant here.   Last time we visited was in 2016 and I am eager to see how things have progressed.
