Dahlia Show - San Francisco Botanical Gardens

Although the Dahlia is the official flower of San Francisco, I find it difficult to grow well in my gardens. It is hard to look at all these gorgeous flowers and not want to try again. We will see.

Best in Show------->

My Favorites this year include Hollyhill Daydream, Verrone's Morning Star and Pam Howden.

Flower Marquee at Chelsea Flower Show

 So here’s the deal.  I am restarting my blog as a true log of my adventures and today I in London, England for the 2022 Chelsea Flower Show.  Yesterday’s post was from the same location but was of the show gardens and vendors outside.

Today we’re going inside the big tent.  At one of the first displays of agapanthus and nerines, there was Mary Berry giving an interview.  I love her on the British Bake Off show and here she was talking about nerines. WOW!

Chelsea Flower Show - Designer Showcase

Five hours walking around Chelsea looking at show gardens, tools, products and lots of design ideas.   What struck me, those small planting areas with pollinator friendly annuals and perennials.  Here’s a couple of the more natural displays.

Chelsea Flower Show

 This years show is my third visit to the Chelsea Flower Show.  A rock star event if you love plants and gardens.  There is so much here but it falls into a few categories.   Garden design by top design firms, Plant introductions and identification, other show gardens and then the commercial aspect, with vendors of all things garden.  In many cases, it's difficult to see the commercial sponsors, but they are there ready to do business.

For me this year, it was more about the visitors and their interactions with the installations.  You will see a lot more people in this years photos.  With emphasis on floral dresses and shirts.

Dahlia Show, San Francisco

California's Dahlia Society 2014 Flower Show at the Hall of Flowers in San Francisco. With more than 8 distinct forms and many more in a full spectrum of form only nature could make. Below are those that look outstanding to me.
