Chelsea Garden Show, London 2012

This one may be my favorite if I can say that.  This show was amazing and it blew my mind.  This is the work of Arne Maynard, a self taught German around my age.  There's hope.

Pacific Heights Roof Deck

Here's a roof patio in Pacific Heights a year after I planted it. It is a southern facing patio that can really bake on those sunny days. In the top photo from the upper left: Phormium, Chamaerops h. cerifera, Lotus berthelotti and Philodendron xanadu.

In the next photo from the left: Cordyline soledad with Lotus berthelotti, Podocarpus gracilior, Cussonia transvaalensis again with Lotus. And the last photo is a Cycad with an amazing fern I got at Flora Grubb Gardens but can't remember the name.

Noe Valley Terraced Garden

I have been taking care of this garden for a couple years now. I am not sure who designed it or built it.  I come here on a monthly schedule.

Noe Valley Vegetable Garden & Lawn

This is an installation I did in Noe Valley.  The positive side of not having a view is having a flat garden.  A rarity in San Francisco and in my opinion a real asset.

Upper Market near Castro

One of my favorite street planting along 16th Street east of Market Street. I pass by here weekly on my way to the farmer's market, bank, coffee shop, bar,... It's so simple and the colors work so well.

Mission Area Street Planting

Not far from the Women's Building on 18th Street in the Mission, here's a cute entry garden.

The purple is intense and I'm sure it got one of their neighbor's panties in a tight wad. But it contrast the terra cotta pots and the green of the plants perfectly. I love the hanging watering can and the water stains on the side walk. Great eye for detail.

Eureka Valley ?? Noe Valley ?? Dolores Heights??

Am I tripping or does this look out of place in the middle of San Francisco? So tranquil and fairy tale like. The gates were ajar when we arrived, no joke.  With Sutro Towers in the background you must know it's in the city. It's on top of a hill I don't know the name. It divides Eureka Valley from Noe Valley along 21st Street and Collingwood. Anyone know the name of this hill?

Angel Island

In the San Francisco Bay, Angel Island has no bridges and no private cars. This is an extremely easy, completely undemanding, overnight bike camping trip.
