Sunday Morning 7am, BB King's Blues Club is quiet. Nobody was out on the street. Perfect way to see a sight. But we are here to see gardens. Today we go out to the suburban town of Germantown.![]() |

I have always wanted to live in a house with a front porch swing. This front table, chairs and umbrella offer a pleasant place to watch the neighborhood. |

Two wooden boxes hide the irrigation hardware with birdhouses. |

A bizarre house and garden. (Too much money and too many Yes men, or people) |

An impressive fountain at the end of an expansive concrete driveway. It's ok until I noticed the numerous animal kitsch. |

We finally make it to Tatayana's garden in Germantown. She introduced huge island bed with grasses and perennials this area might have seen a couple hundred years ago. |

Filled with pollinator friendly plants. |

I typically don't like bedding plants but this one is sharp. |

To contrast, the neighborhood is full of huge lawns. That tiny island looks ridiculous. |

Cute young man making bows and flower arrangements. |

A large house on a wooded lot. I love Crepe Myrtles, one of the plants I can't grow back home in San Francisco. |

A somewhat dilapidated Japanese house and garden. |

A good use of a narrow lap pool with an infinity back edge reflecting the colors of the garden. (Zoom in to the center of the photograph) |

Folly garden with live alligator in living room tank. |

The tank set within the living room. |

Here's a better view. I think this is a caiman. |
