East Memphis neighborhoods and parks including the botanical gardens, Sexton/Thornton and Dixon Gallery.
To see the Second Day of Memphis Fling
 |
Mimosas at the Memphis Botanic Garden |
 |
Monarda fistulosa 'Claire Grace' |
I found the meadows the most pleasing. Both the Monarch Meadow with its milkweed or the Goldfinch meadow with all the asteraceae gave me delight.
 |
Opalescent of the Magnolia |
The afternoon took us to five other private gardens in far east Memphis.
Echinacea is the flower of the tour. (Don’t know about the official vote and I don’t care)
 |
Dixon Gallery and Gardens |
And back downtown for the evening.
You're staking your hat on the purple coneflower - a solid pick for the official Fling Plant. ;)
